Wardrobe malfunction

This term was made famous when Janet Jackson "accidentally" exposed her left breast during the half-time performance of the Superbowl. Justin Timberlake, who was singing with her, apologized. He said it was a mistake and called it a "wardrobe malfunction." This term means a problem with your clothing, when something happens to your clothes that you did not expect, e.g., leaving the zip on your trousers unzipped, or the heel coming off your shoe. "Wardrobe malfunction" can also be used to describe a bad choice of fashion.
