Presenteeism |
listen!
|
Presenteeism comes from the word absenteeism, which refers to when an employee repeatedly does not come to work (is absent from work) for no good reason. Presenteeism is the opposite of absenteeism. This word refers to employees who stay at work (are present at work) to work overtime not because they have more work to do but because they feel they just have to be there. They feel they have to show others that they are working hard too.
