An anorak is a type of jacket, usually brightly colored, that is worn in very cold weather. These people became associated with people who were interested in trains. They would stand in the cold at train stations, wearing anoraks, and watch the trains go passed. Later, anoraks became associated with anyone who had an obsessive interest in something. They usually collected things and their social skills were not very good. There were otaku. So, these people are anorakish, or their interest is anorakish. If you have these anorakish interests, you can be said to suffer from anoraksia.
