| No news is good news | listen!
 |
|
You are very worried about something — perhaps about a job interview — and you are waiting for news about whether it went well or it went badly. According to this proverb, if there was bad news — i.e., you failed to get the job — you would have already heard it by now, because bad news spreads more quickly than good news. So receiving no news is a good thing. It means you still have a chance of getting that job. |
