お礼のお手紙

After you have returned home, it's considered polite to write a letter of thanks to your host family. More importantly, it gives you a chance to keep in contact with them, and perhaps see them again.
Here's a sample letter you could use as a model.
Dear Mary, John, Dave and Cathy
I really enjoyed the two weeks in Los Angeles. Thank you so much for all the great memories you have given me. I hope we will keep in touch.
