You win some, you lose some

According to this proverb, the world is not perfect and that nothing we do turns out perfectly.
Whatever you do, however successful that may be, it will always be balanced by something that will go wrong or will be lost. This proverb is usually used to cheer people up when they have done well, but not as well as they thought they would.
