Don't count your chickens before they are hatched |

If a chicken lays four eggs, it does not mean that you will always get four chickens from them. They may die, before they come out of the egg, or while they are still young. So it is too soon to count how many chickens you will have, just by counting the eggs. So this proverb means, do not be too confident before you start a project, do not think that you will definitely succeed, do not make plans based on that success. "Be hatched" means "come out of the egg."
