Revenge is a dish best served cold

This proverb, famous now for being used at the beginning of Quentin Tarentino's Kill Bill Volume 1, says that, if someone does something bad to you, it is best to wait for a while before getting your revenge. You should not immediately try to punish that person, but you should wait and plan your revenge. That way, because you will be less angry when you get revenge and you will have thought about it for longer, the revenge will be so much better, more satisfying and sweeter for you.
