Two very common English verbs are do and make. They are used with many different words, but it can often be confusing to know if you should use do or make.

We usually use do to talk about chores, activities, or tasks. Some examples are

Do is also used to talk about work and jobs
◆ do your homework
◆ do your job
◆ do some work
Make is often used to talk about creating or building something. For example:
◆ make plans
◆ make a sweater
◆ make coffee
Make is also used for preparing any food or meal.
◆ make breakfast
◆ make spaghetti
◆ make curry and rice
